Thoughts
-
Came across this tweet from Steve Krouse - I love this idea of "Contexts" which got me thinking about Context Design, and how can we be more intentional about the Contexts we create and participate in. I dumped some more thoughts in Contexts

Experiences
-
Second last week in San Francisco & was also our busiest yet
-
Attended Stripe Sessions - dropped in to the Zuck talk on Tuesday and John Ive talk on Wednesday. Zuck was slightly more likeable than I expected. The problem with most of these talks is that you've heard most of the insights before in other podcasts, but Jony said some stuff that I hadn't heard before, particularly around creating an environment for design teams that leads to good design-as-a-group.
-
Met up with some friends from Ireland who were in town. Had a great catch up with Brendan O'D. We both began our startup journey around the same time in Dublin - had a lot of fun reminiscing and reflecting on where we're both at now (he's killing and was behind many of the things Figma announced at Config). He also had some interesting perspectives on where to live in the US, which has added more considerations to our list.
-
Went to a bunch of other evening events - Bolt Park, The Chainsmokers Gig, some Figma Config parties, a consumer event in Lotts' place, a Founders Inc talk.
-
Spent a lot of time with Derek O, whose company I really enjoy. We went to a bunch of events together and he invited me to a dinner with a bunch of people who it turns out I follow on twitter - Greg I and one or two others.
-
-
Went to the Halsey concert in Concord on Saturday - by this stage I was exhausted but it was still a fun night - I had expected an acoustic vibe but the production quality was really high, and it was the opening night of the tour so the energy was high. She also sang Closer, which made it twice in a week seeing that song performed live.
